Avah's Portfolio

In this portfolio there is seventeen different pieces using different mediums. I wanted to experiment with different techniques and mediums to make my art stand out more.

"The Bug"

For this piece I wanted to experiment using oil pastels and challenge myself by making fine details on the bug, while making the background blurred to show perspective.

"Adolesence"

In this piece I wanted to show how people are the ones that make a home, not the physical structure of a house. Memories are what makes a home feel like home.

"Valuable Objects"

In this piece I painted objects that I grew up with that I find valuable. Although to others this may just seem like a bunch of random things.

"Sunday Paper"

For this piece I wanted to show what my Sundays looked like at my grandparent's house. I was never allowed to waste "good" paper, so I made something good out of a waste.

"Violet"

"Chip"

For these pieces I created abstract backgrounds to make the painting look more interesting. "Violet" is a painting I made of my friend hence the purple and violet background colors. "Chip" is my dog and I wanted to test out monochromatic techniques while painting realistically.

For these pieces I wanted to show the physical changes from when I was little to now. I included a drawing of the person that I grew up with, but is no longer here.
